My number one priority this year, by far, is to move house - we really need more space. Moving won't be entirely straightforward....we are fortunate to have 2 properties to sell, albeit that they are not quite ready to sell (that's a whole other story!) but London is still super-expensive and the challenge as always will be finding the right house at the right price.....and within a very specific distance from where we currently live. Good job I like a challenge!!
And I plan to make this the year that....
....I accomplish more each day and make my time work better for me. I am a stay at home mother and those of you who do that know that sometimes your days end feeling that you have achieved less than you wanted to achieve! I want to somehow be even more structured in my day to day planning so that I spend more time on the things I really want to do....and less time doing the things that I really don't enjoy so much.
....I travel a little more even if it's just week-ends away to new places in England. This year I may have the chance to visit France three times - and I am going to try to say yes each time! I also would like to go to Italy again, go to the beach and to visit Cornwall or Devon in the south of England, I haven't been there since I was very young.
....I go to the gym more ....I have no idea why I am saying "more" when right now I don't go at all!! My husband - at my request - bought me a gym membership for Christmas so I have no excuse not to go. Please do feel free to check up on me and ask me how my work-outs are going :) I also want to take up yoga or pilates....
....I read more, go to the theatre more, catch up with old friends more, cook more, write more ....and treat myself more....
....I incorporate a little more glamour into my life.....because you can never have too much...
So those are my thoughts....some simple plans but enough that I will feel a positive change in my life....
2010.....I am ready!

I think 2010 will be a great year for you! We are planning a move as well, it is so challenging finding the right place... but good thing you are in a beautiful area of the world :) I am with you on making time to do more of the things you love and less of the things you don't. You are such a wonderful woman and I feel so happy that we were able to meet and get to know eachother in this blogging world! Yay for a fun, happy, healthy 2010!! I'll enjoy being with you on your adventure. And as for the gym, go when you want - and enjoy it. Do it for your inner health... thats what its all about :)

I truly BELIEVE that you will make your entire list part of your reality! You can do this (even if it requires the odd enquiring email from moi) and just think of how happy you will be if you can bring it all about~

ReplyDeleteYou can do anything you set your mind to my dear. I will keep my fingers crossed on the house front as I know that will be the most challenging item on your list. Have fun at the gym ~ so something you enjoy ~ become more of the goddess you already are!

I am SO WITH YOU with your plans for the new year! I feel and think the same - how crazy! And at the end of each day I´m wondering where is the time going so fast and I always think I achieved less than you wanted to achieve! But so what - I enjoy my time as much as I can because life is so wonderful! For you I wish a wonderful year with a lot of great times, fun, laughter, inspiration, some sports ;o), nice travels, a beautiful new house, a lot of health for you and your lovies - AND: a lot of hugs, kisses and love!
ReplyDeleteSimone that sounds like a wonderful programme and you're going to need to do two things to achieve it - FIRST: believe that you really deserve it and that by looking after yourself, you will be able to better look after your other loved ones. And Second: see FIRST!!
ReplyDeleteI love Pilates and you feel really great afterwards! You are going to have a fabulous year! Good luck with the house - we are selling a big one in Provence too ... the story would be publishable I think ;-)
Dooooo - come to France ;-)
Ange

Hi Simone,
ReplyDeleteSorry that I'm a little late with my comment. I've just come back from a friends. I drove in the snow and boy, what a lot of snow !!!!Oh, but it looks so pretty. I love it. I took a few photos of the garden this morning, it looked so lovely.
Well, what wonderful plans you have for the coming year. I'm sure that they will all come to fruition and , if some of them don't this year then they will next.
We sold my Dad's house quite easily in Winchmore Hill just before Christmas so, I think that the market is picking up.
Can we have a photo of the Snowman, please. I bet the children are loving it. I can remember when mine were little, we spent ages getting boots and gloves and coats and all-in-ones and hats on and after about 10 minutes they would want to come in again as they were so cold !!!!
Enjoy the snow, Simone. XXXX
Simone,
ReplyDeleteWe must talk. My daughter is planning a wedding in Italy. One of her Christmas gifts from her husband-to-be was a trip to Italy to find the 'right' place. They will return next year for the wedding...and I get to go! Do you have any favorite places?
I'm ready too...take me with you;)
ReplyDeleteOh btw your comment on my blog today made me laugh out loud!!! Can you imagine?? Now that would be a revelation:o
happy new year, Simone! your list sounds great. especially the part when you say to do things that you really WANT to do and not those you HAVE to. this is my main goal for this year! best wishes! xo

More glamour in your life? You are glamour incarnate in this space.
ReplyDeleteEveryone seems to be struggling with that time thing. I feel constantly as if I'm wasting precious time. I thought I would make some kind of resolution to resolve the problem.
